As a leading software company, Innosoft has a clear mission and defined values that support our vision of a sustainable future. Our mission is to develop innovative software solutions that not only increase efficiency and productivity, but also minimize environmental impact. Our core values are innovation, sustainability and social responsibility.
Why is sustainability important to Innosoft?
Sustainability is an integral part of our corporate philosophy. We firmly believe that companies have an important role to play in the fight against environmental impacts. Our software solutions aim to help companies work more resource-efficiently and reduce their CO2 emissions.
This is achieved, for example, by clever use of Innosoft’s graphical and geographical resource planning, which can optimize extended access to deployment sites and thus reduce CO2 emissions. This applies both to the trips of service employees of Innosoft customers and to the trips of Innosoft project employees to the customer sites.
The Innosoft solutions for the mobile service also save large amounts of paper, which are often still needed for service reports, weekly reports, measurement reports, spare parts requirements, etc. and are then extensively archived in files.
Sustainability goals and strategies
Environmental impacts, indicators and achievements
In 2016, we as a company recorded an increase in our CO2 footprint compared to 2015 of 6.78% as a result of our business trips by car. Unfortunately, our CO2 emissions also increased significantly in 2018, reaching a peak since the beginning of our measurements.
This increase was due to increased business travel and increased use of cars. In our analysis, we identified business trips, car rides and remote working as major savings factors.
The years after 2018 brought significant changes in our carbon footprint. In 2022, we were able to drastically reduce our CO2 emissions to just 0.61 tonnes. This massive decline is due to several factors, including the introduction of home offices and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which have led to a reduction in travel activity.
The difference between 2016, 2018 and 2022 is impressive. Between 2016 and 2018, CO2 emissions increased by 6.58%, indicating an increase in business travel and the use of cars. But after 2018, we have reduced our CO2 emissions by a remarkable 90.16%. This shows how effective the promotion of remote work and the reduction of travel can be.
Overall, we have saved 89.83% in the last 5 years by adapting our travel behaviour and switching to sustainable working practices. This shows that conscious action and the introduction of home office can lead to significant savings. Out of 60 employees, only 8 employees come to the office every day on average, compared to 2018, when all employees drove to work every day. The 8 employees travel an average of 12 km for the work.
Our successes are measurable: thanks to our sustainability efforts, we have reduced our energy use by 90% in the last 5 years.
