A dashboard is a clear start or overview page of the software that displays the most important information and key figures at a glance. In field service management, the dashboard acts as a central information hub for dispatchers and service managers as soon as they open the application. Real-time data and current status messages are typically visualized here in a compact format. A good dashboard answers questions such as: How many open tickets are there currently? Are there any urgent jobs? What is today’s utilization rate? Are there any escalations or exceeded SLAs?
The Innosoft FSM software, for example, displays all processes relevant to the user in the dashboard. This can include open orders/tickets, ongoing jobs (with time and assigned technician), upcoming maintenance, and service reports that are still pending.
In addition, key performance indicators (KPIs) such as the number of completed assignments for the week, average response time, or service revenue are often displayed. The information is presented via widgets, lists, and charts. This allows a service manager to see at a glance whether all maintenance appointments are on schedule or whether there are any backlogs.
A special feature of modern dashboards is their customizability. Each user, or at least each role, can set up a customized dashboard. A dispatcher may primarily want to see the job overview and ticket status, while a manager may prefer sales and cost statistics. The standard dashboard can be activated in Innosoft FSM via the settings and configured for each user. For example, which statistics or diagrams are shown or hidden.
The dashboard significantly increases transparency in daily practice. Instead of having to search through several modules, all critical points are visible in one place. Example: If the dashboard shows that “5 service reports are open,” the service manager knows immediately that he needs to remind the technicians to submit their reports. Or a red indicator could show that two tickets have exceeded the promised response time, allowing the dispatcher to follow up with priority.
In short, the dashboard acts as the cockpit of the FSM software. It provides a compact overview of the situation and allows you to jump directly to the relevant detail areas.
